speech and drama team

On Saturday, November 11th, the CJI Speech & Drama Team hosted eleven other schools at the 2023 CJI Invitational.  The CJI Hawks had five team members compete and all five of them placed in the top eight in their events.
Junior Harman Maan led the charge for the Hawks with her first place finish in Informative Speaking.
Junior Davey Erickson turned in another strong performance and finished second in Original Oratory.
Freshman Trent Fulbright placed fourth in Spontaneous Oral Interpretation.
Sophomore Saige Bachteler finished fifth in Dramatic Interpretation.
First time competitor, senior Levi Overlie, took sixth place in Dramatic Interpretation.
As a team, the CJI Hawks finished third in Class C speech despite missing two team members, Martin Fulbright and Tara Case, due to the All-State Band Event in Missoula.
The CJI Speech and Drama team next travels to Browning on Saturday, November 18th.
The CJI Speech and Drama team would like to thank everyone who helped to make their meet a success including the judges, other coaches, and individuals who donated food for the hospitality room.  It takes a village to put on a speech meet and it would not have been possible without the help of many people.
