On Saturday, December 9, the CJI Speech and Drama Team made the short trip to Fort Benton to compete in the Fort Benton Holiday Tournament. The Hawks brought six competitors and all six competitors placed in the top 8 in their respective events.

Here are the results:

Junior Tara Case led the way for the Hawks with her second place finish in Humorous Oral Interpretation.

Junior Harman Maan took third place in Informative Speaking.

Freshman Trent Fulbright placed third in Spontaneous Oral Interp.

Senior Levi Overlie was fourth in Dramatic Oral Interpretation.

Senior Martin Fulbright took fifth place in Impromptu Speaking.

Senior Nakyra Smith competed in her first meet of the season, breaking into finals in one of the larger events at the meet. She finished 8th place in Humorous Oral Interpretation.

As a team, the CJI Hawks finished third place in Class C Speech behind Simms and Fort Benton despite missing two team members. The Hawks were only one point behind second place Simms.

The Hawks Speech and Drama Team next travel on January 6th to Shelby to compete with other Northern B/C Teams.
